Frequently Asked Questions - FAQs

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELSTRO AUTO AND THE DEALERSHIP?

There are many differences but the most important is that at Elstro Auto, you are never more than one person away from the owner. In many cases you will be conducting business with the owner, Matt directly. Regardless, he is always readily available. All of Elstro Auto’s staff have been chosen with YOU the customer in mind. Additionally, we all answer directly to the owner as there is no middle management. This is important because Matt wants all his customers to be happy with the level of service they receive. It is only by eliminating this middle management that Matt can stay in constant contact with his staff and employees, and he is able to do that to ensure the highest level of service. It is important to know that we really do care if you return for future service.

Our viability as an independent auto repair business depends on our customers' happiness.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cash, Check, Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Klarna, Affirm, Zelle & NAPA Easy Pay (Synchrony Car Care Credit)

WILL YOU INSTALL MY PARTS?

No. We are unable to provide any warranty on the parts that we do not provide. In addition, bringing your own parts can run into longer delays when not all parts are provided or possibly the incorrect part. We do this to save you time and money on additional headaches with the added value of our warranty.

DO YOU OFFER USED VEHICLE INSPECTIONS? ALSO KNOWN AS PRE PURCHASE INSPECTIONS.

Yes. We HIGHLY recommend getting a vehicle inspection done on any used car before purchase, especially if buying from an individual or a place that does not offer automotive repair. We have multiple options available to give you the peace of mind you're making a good, informed purchase.

WILL YOU WORK WITH MY EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY?

Yes. We will work with most aftermarket warranty companies. Please contact us at 765-488-1011 to start the warranty repair process.

WHAT SORT WARRANTY DO YOU HAVE ON PARTS AND LABOR?

We warranty most work that we perform, which includes most parts and labor! Most items are covered under our industry leading 36 month/36k mile warranty*.  Please call us for any warranty related questions. 765-488-1011

*Whichever comes first. Some limitations apply. Some warranties are shorter or longer than our standard 36/36, such as Engines/Transmissions.

This does not include wearable items.

CAN I GET AN OIL CHANGE WHILE I WAIT?

Yes, we are not a Quick Lube...so we do recommend that you make an appointment first to ensure that we are able to get your oil service performed in a timely manner. Our oil changes are conducted by an ASE certified technician and include a multi-point vehicle inspection as a courtesy to help you stay aware of the
overall safety and health of your vehicle.

DO YOU WORK ON HYBRIDS?

Yes, we service and repair hybrid vehicles including hybrid battery diagnosis and replacement.

DO YOU OFFER FREE DIAGNOSTICS?

In simple no. True diagnostics implement a multitude of factors such as years of training to troubleshoot, specialty tools, and time. To truly offer our diagnostic services we must charge for that time involved. Diagnostic fees are necessary and justified in most cases and are not set at a "Flat Fee" as at some places or rolled into the cost of repair. If it is deemed something simple, we do not even charge. By charging for our time, we stand behind an accurate diagnosis for you to decide to repair. Ultimately, we want to save you money. By taking the time to figure out what is wrong, we are not just putting random parts on your vehicle and "hoping for a fix."

IF I HAVE MY VEHICLE MAINTAINED AT YOUR SHOP, CAN THAT VOID MY MANUFACTURER WARRANTY?

No, having Elstro Auto maintain your vehicle will not void your factory warranty. In 1975, the U.S. Congress passed the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a federal law that governs consumer product warranties. Among other things, Congress wanted to ensure that consumers could get complete and straightforward information about warranty terms and conditions. In short, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act gives you these rights: By law, your vehicle’s manufacturer warranty will stay in effect when you have regularly scheduled maintenance performed at a qualified facility that uses quality parts and procedures. Generally, your vehicle’s manufacturer warranty cannot require you to return to your auto dealer for vehicle maintenance, or to only use the brand of replacement parts offered by that dealer.
